Have you ever completed a layout and just thought it lacked? That it was missing something, but you had no idea what it was? And you didn't want to waste it so you dutifully put in one of your scrap albums? Well, that was the case with this layout:
I really liked this picture of myself at my friend Leslie's wedding + it's the only time I have ever been a bridesmaid, so I really wanted to scrap it. And I'm still not sure what the problem was, but any time I looked at this layout, I wasn't satisfied.
However, I have made it a "policy" of mine NOT to go back and "fix" layouts... I might not get anything done! And besides, styles and designs and tastes change over time, right?
Fast forward 8 or so months to the Library of Memories class with Stacy Julian at Big Picture Scrapbooking. One of the assignments is to break up your layouts into 4 different albums: All About Us, People We Love, Places We Go, Things We Do. So I was working on doing just this the other night and when I pulled this layout out of the old album, several of the crappy vinyl thickers jumped ship. Ack. And so it sat there on my table, mocking me. And I almost threw it away. But then I realized it was the opportunity to do something quick to make it more lovable...

What do you think? Have you ever done anything like this??

Lauren, it looks awesome. Love that photo BTW. You look gorgeous. I have never gone back. Too many of mine need fixing. I shudder to think of the ones I did when I started eleven years ago. I like Paperkins. That gives you an idea. LOL!
This is so cool! What a great idea!
My thought when I saw the first one would be to put some sort of a lace pattern overlay on the solid-colored border/frame. It could be very subtle or not, black, white, colored, just something to give it a little texture. I think the changes you have already made are definitely an improvement though! :)
As I was organising my albums I discovered some really awful layouts that I want to redo. Will I though, I don't know.
But I love your retake!!
