Tis the Season

Tis the season. We wish you a merry Christmas. I LOVE this song by Shedaisy. Probably one of my favorite holiday country tunes. I LOVE Christmas music. Traditional, country, rock, classical, choral, etc. Bring. It. On.

So, now that Halloween is officially over, the weekend passed and much candy consumed... it's time for the Christmas Holiday Season to begin! I can officially start making cards, creating decorations and singing Christmas carols at the office. No. Wait. One of my coworkers just vetoed the last one! Oops! He claims that's not allowed until Thanksgiving! We'll see how long I can hold out!

So, the big question is: what holiday decorations are on the agenda? Over the last couple of years, I have made a paper wreath and a paper Christmas tree that I love and still bring out every holiday season. But I'm thinking it's time for something new. I think I will be "spicing up" this garland by Making Memories. It's my project for the week. Maybe add some spray, stamps, glitter or paint. Or different papers. Not sure. I like the design, but I plan to add my own "flair" to the garland.

Do you have any holiday projects in the works? I would love to see what you are up to! And I am also curious to know what's your favorite Christmas/Holiday song or album? I'm always looking to expand my musical knowledge. I am a classically trained violinist you know... perhaps I should document that story soon. Stay tuned. :o)

First of all, that wreath is awesome and that is what I will be making for the holidays. Do you have a styrofoam wreath under the paper? Like how I am trying to steal your idea? LOL! It is wonderful.

In terms of holiday music, I listen to it whenever I feel like it. Even in June. I love a wide-range of holiday songs, but of course trying to remember ones without my iPod in front of me results in failure. I have a bad memory. LOL! I do love I Wish You the Merriest by Frank Sinatra and The River by Sarah Mclachlan.

I am so on the same page. . .I was just telling my mom that I am ready to bring out the Christmas decor today. Every year it goes by faster and faster and I just want to enjoy it longer! I love "The Elf" soundtrack. My fave song is Pennies from Heaven, which really isn't a Christmas song but it makes me so happy. =)

Hey Lauren! Just checking in on your blog. That wreath is fantastic -- you'll have to teach me how you made it! I must say, though, I agree with your co-worker about the Christmas songs. If I were to start now I would "burn out" by Thanksgiving. I start listening on Thanksgiving morning!

Stopping by from Shimelle's class. Those projects are gorgeous - especially the paper wreath! I am with you on feeling the Christmas spirit already... I played a Christmas cd on the way to work this morning :) Here's the wreath I made yesterday: http://sharyncarlson.typepad.com/living_artfully/2009/11/christmas-ornament-wreath.html
